2006 IMGA Awards Are Announced
The IMGA award is the sign of a great mobile game. If you want to know what's hot at the moment, check out the IMGA winners.
Every Mobile Game Creator Wants to Win an IMGA
Although the mobile gambling industry is on the verge of taking off (and many say that it has already launched), the mobile gaming industry - that business that lets you play games on your cell phones - has been around for ages. All cell phone owners have watched as mobile games have developed over the years, from the simplest games like Netris to the most complex 3-dimensional games imaginable. The industry has gotten so huge that now they even have their own awards - the International Mobile Gaming Awards (IMGA). Think of them as the Oscars of mobile gaming and you'll know what a big deal they are.
IMGA runs an annual contest for the most innovative and creative mobile games and it is a huge honor to win. There are many talented mobile game developers and IMGA believes they deserve recognition and honor. Mobile gaming is one of the fastest- growing industries around (imagine online gambling 8 or 10 years ago), and one of the most lucrative, as well. IMGA is there to single out the stars - everybody loves a winner.
The IMGA is the Difference Between the Great and the Merely Good
The 2006 IMGA awards were recently distributed and the game Triangler was a big winner. Triangler is a perfect example of a challenging mobile game that combines great graphics and a brilliant idea. Triangler is not for the uninitiated - it is a multi-player location-based game involving thousands of participants - but once you figure it out you'll start forming the team you'll need to play the game.
Mega Monster is another game that won an IMGA for excellence in 2006. With Mega Monster what you see is what you get - you're fighting a mega-monster. The premise is very cool. You're an alien participant of an inter-galactic reality show (how sad to realize there are reality shows on other planets) and you're trying to take over good old planet Earth by turning us humans into huge monsters. This game is pure fun and though it may sound crazy, IMGA knows what mobile gaming fans like and Mega Monster delivers.
The point is that wherever there are mobile games - and that's everywhere since mobile phones can be found in just about every pocket on earth - IMGA is right there, too. In just a few years there will probably be hundreds of thousands of mobile games to choose from. The IMGA award will be a clear indication to everyone which games are the biggest and which, therefore, deserve your special mobile attention.
